Up to $10,000.00 Available

Eligible organizations can apply for various amounts through the General Grant or the Bereavement Grant. The total amount available is $10,000.00, to be shared among the successful applicants. The Foundation Grant is used to support needs in the community. The Bereavement Grant is used in connection with bereavement initiatives. Organizations applying for funds must have a charitable number, or be a qualified donee as recognized through the Canada Revenue Agency. Application forms are now available on the website at: www.givingthatgrows.com

" Our annual grants have been used for a variety of unique projects that wouldn’t have been possible without these funds," explains Wendy Hewitt, Chair of the Granting Committee and board member of the Foundation. "It’s been exciting to see how the continued growth of the Foundation has resulted in our ability to see an increase in the available funds for the benefit of our local community," says Matt Bradley, Chair of the Foundation.

The grants are made possible through the investment of funds which earn interest throughout the year. The principle of these funds is not touched so that every year they can continue to generate grants for the community. Individuals who have endowment funds with the Foundation also have the opportunity to direct their funds to assist with community causes.

Last year our grant recipients were awarded to the Community Resource Centre Inc. (Killaloe), the #638 Algonquin Squadron (Pembroke), Streetlight Theatre Company, Eganville & District Senior Citizens Needs Association, and Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home Program Inc. (Bereavement Grant).

The Pembroke Petawawa District Community Foundation is a public foundation which benefits the community by providing funds to charities, local groups and organizations that are also registered under the Income Tax Act. It is one of more than 191 Community Foundations in Canada. The Foundation was established in 2008 and has the mandate to invest and manage charitable funds for projects, causes and other community organizations. Proceeds are distributed to meet the community’s greatest needs.
